**Simon Magus**, also known by the alias **The Magician**, was an ancient and powerful fallen Celestial who served as a major antagonist during the middle arcs of the story. Originally the esteemed God of Knowledge within [[šØ Mariaposa]]'s Maegaerium, his immense intellect fostered an overwhelming arrogance and lust for power. This led him to steal forbidden lore regarding imitation Starlight (the Lux Arcana) and orchestrate complex plans involving sealed Primordials and ancient Hyperian technology in his pursuit of achieving artificial godhood, before ultimately being killed by his own intended prize, [[šØ X6]].
# APPEARANCE
While Simon Magus often employed a disguise consisting of heavy, concealing purple robes and a wide-brimmed hat that cast his face entirely into shadow (leaving only two glowing white dots visible for eyes), his true form was revealed later. Beneath the obfuscation, he was described as handsome, possessing long, somewhat messy silver or white hair. His skin tone was dark or deeply tanned, contrasting with his striking golden or yellow eyes, which frequently held a look of confidence, amusement, or disdainful arrogance, often curving into a smirk.
He typically wore his signature voluminous purple robes and cloak accented with gold trim, dark gloves, and distinctive gold triangular earrings, and was frequently seen carrying THE **Lux Arcana**.
# PERSONALITY
Simon Magus's defining trait was his profound **intellectual arrogance** bordering on a god complex (though he seemed to acknowledge the Vedas as truly superior). Having served as the God of Knowledge and caretaker of the Maegaerium Texts, he believed his understanding of cosmic forces surpassed those who wielded power naturally or by mandate. This fueled his **lust for power** ā not merely control, but the power to replicate and wield [[šØ Ultidea]]'s Starlight via the forbidden **Lux Arcana**, thus proving his intellectual mastery over creation itself.
He was a **meticulous and patient planner**, capable of orchestrating schemes across long periods. Utterly **ruthless and manipulative**, Simon viewed almost all other beings ā potential allies like [[šØ Yuphranes]], targets like Latear or X6, and opponents like the heroes ā as disposable tools, obstacles, or data points relevant only to his grand ambition. He lacked genuine empathy, operating on cold logic and a belief in his inherent superiority. His ultimate downfall stemmed directly from his **hubris**, specifically his failure to account for the emergent consciousness and agency of [[šØ X6]], which he viewed solely as a technological power source to be exploited.
