**The Path of Esse** centers around the summoning of autonomous, living constructs formed from karmic energy—entities known as _Eidolons_. Unlike elemental conjurations or attacks found in Concentration, which are brief and inorganic, Eidolons are persistent, semi-sentient beings with distinct forms, behaviors, and functions. They can range from small scouts and messengers to massive beasts of war, depending on the user’s experience, willpower, and karmic refinement. Esse is fundamentally about life externalized. Users do not just create—they delegate. An Eidolon is not a puppet, but a karmic extension shaped by its summoner’s will and their affinity with other Paths. An Esse user aligned with Action might summon a warrior spirit focused on close combat, while one aligned with Intention might produce a guardian that adapts to the summoner’s emotional state. Because of this, Esse is deeply collaborative, relying not only on raw power but also on the summoner’s relationship with their own karmic flow. Eidolons are not eternal. They require constant upkeep of karmic energy to remain active. A user’s strength in the Path of Effort often determines how long and how many Eidolons can be maintained simultaneously. Advanced users may form contracts with their Eidolons, allowing them to evolve, grow in power, or act independently under complex conditions. Despite its immense potential, Esse is considered one of the most difficult paths to master. Improper control or alignment can lead to instability in the summoned forms. Without sufficient skill in paths like Mind (to manage coordination), Perusal (to monitor field presence), or Prose (to bind more complex contracts), an Esse user may find their own Eidolons ineffective—or worse, disobedient. Still, when refined, the Path of Esse creates warriors, tacticians, and strategists unlike any other. These users rarely fight alone.
