# What is Total Sunshine?
The Total Sunshine Game is a mysterious game created by the Spirits, beings that embodied the concepts the world, to find what they called the **King of All Spirits** or Spirit King. Since it's conception 3,00 years ago, only one man has beat it, the mysterious Narcissus. He singlehandedly completed the game, but denied the title of Spirit King and disappeared. Since then, no one has ever completed though few have come close. Mysteriously, the closer one gets to completion, the less they want to play.
### HOW TO GET STARTED PLAYING
To begin playing, you must first find a Factor. But don’t be fooled: Factors are very rare, with a 21.1% chance of finding one. But even rarer are Special Factors, with a 3% chance of finding one.
There are 2 kinds of Factors: Factors and Special Factors. A regular Factor is a small, 4 inch golden button in the shape of a smiling sun. Once pressed, the Factor will seep into your body and protrude from your chest.
Special Factors don’t look like regular Factors. They have their own unique look and some are even made out of unique elements. But one thing Special Factors do is grant the user the ability of a spirit.
### WHAT MAKES IT SO DANGEROUS?
The main human civilizations could be at the center of the world, and the further you go out from it, the more spirits you’d find and the more dangerous it becomes. There are still disconnected human nations few and far between, but generally the more you move away from the center, the less and less human civilizations you’d find.
The Rocnes people are one of the races humanity is more well-versed in. The islands the Rocnes people inhabit, called Ronessia, sits just a short boat trip north from what humans call the Great Circle of Humanity. To the south are the Iubebbes People, or Lizardmen, to the west are the Fairy Kingdoms, and to the east are the Draconians (Dragons). These four cardinal locations serve as primary checkpoints for players participating in TOTAL SUNSHINE.
The lands outside the Great Circle of Humanity are called the Outer Worlds and have no affiliation with the 36 Nations, the 13 Families, or any global power. These nations also house the second part of TOTAL SUNSHINE, with the challenges being even greater and scarier than the first half, being referred to as Fool’s Gambit.
